FedNor is an initiative of the Government of Canada aiming to address the economic development needs of Northern Ontario. Working with numerous partners, and through its programs and services, FedNor helps fund community projects as well as others initiatives designed to improve the economic and social well-being of the North as a whole. The Atikokan Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit , community based corporation. We are governed by a fifteen member Board of Directors who are elected at the Annual General Meeting for a three year term. The Atikokan Economic Development Corporation works to promote the community and area. We also work to maintain and recruit business to the community. Atikokan Foodland has been serving the community of Atikokan for over 20 years. Foodland has had a partnership with the Outers program for 20 years providing discounts for all Outers purchasing food for trips. Ontario Parks has been in existence for over one hundred years. There goal is to ensure that Ontario's provincial parks protect significant natural, cultural, and recreational environments, while providing ample opportunities for visitors to participate in recreational activities. Since its founding in 1954, The Quetico Foundation has been dedicated to the protection of wilderness, with particular focus on Quetico Wilderness Provincial Park.
